The 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Military Mutual is being held on 18th December 2020 at 2.30pm. Given the current social distancing guidelines the AGM will take place online using the commonly available Zoom application and will require significant changes to our past practice. This is a long way from our normal arrangements at Sandown Park where we have always enjoyed very positive and friendly engagement with our Members. We hope to return to an in person meeting when it is safe to do so next year.
Members are being sent instructions on how to access the Zoom meeting and on how to vote and submit questions. Voting is available through the Mutual’s AGM web portal (provided by UK-Engage) where members can exercise their votes via Proxy through the Chairman. Details of how to access the portal have been provided by email or letter to each Member individually with a unique code provided for each Member.
Members are being asked to consider and, if thought fit, pass the following Resolutions as Ordinary Resolutions:
- Resolution 1 – That the annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2019, and the reports of the Directors and the Auditors thereon, be received and considered.
- Resolution 2 – That Deloitte LLP be re-appointed as Auditors of the Mutual and that their remuneration be determined by the Directors.
- Resolution 3 – That Michael John Harwood be re-elected a director of the Mutual.
- Resolution 4 – That Bruce Nicholas Bromley Williams be re-elected a director of the Mutual.
Questions to the Board
We recognise our AGM this year is in less than ideal circumstances. As a membership based organisation your Board would still very much want to encourage our Members to raise any questions or concerns for our consideration. The Mutual’s AGM web portal allows members to put questions to the Board as this will not be possible during the meeting itself. We will respond to every member’s question in due course and during the AGM meeting we will provide answers to those questions most commonly raised.
